Climbing Conditions

We climbed the SW Face of Mt Eon yesterday.

The Mt Docking fire is near the road and parking, but is across the river and burning in steep, rocky terrain. The BC Wildfire Service is not actioning it but with the mine so close I'm sure they will if they feel the fire will become a concern. Despite its proximity smoke was not a major issue for us although this could change with the wind direction.

The approach up the creekbed was mostly dry but there is plenty of water at the meadow camp.

The route still has snow patches but we were able to easily avoid them and did not bring ice axes or crampons.
