Visitor Safety was on Edith Cavell yesterday. We climbed the East Ridge and descended via the West Ridge. We used crampons and an ice axe to ascend the snowfield that leads to the east ridge but it may be possible to avoid the snow if you stay far climbers left. There are still a few lingering snow patches on the ridge but they were easily avoided. Water was flowing in the first gully encountered on the ascent and then again in the west bowl on descent. Wildfire smoke was present but the surrounding peaks were still visible.
Happy alpine climbing!
