Avalanche Conditions

On a routine house keeping mission in my tenure area, I was able to initiate a reaction at the recent storm snow interface, on a North facing, 50 degree, smooth, start zone at 2100m. The initial failure was down 40cm then stepped down 110cm to the November crust. The critical threshold seems to have been reached on steep North facing slopes in this area. Previous slope history should be integral to your decision making process.
