We skied an alpine feature into Dispatchers Bowl today. Once in the bowl (2400m) there was 40-50cms of low density powder overlying late November Crust sandwich. The crust was hard to feel underfoot but definitely there and with more slab development it’s something to watch out for in the near future. There was no reactivity to skier traffic in the Bowl but noticed numerous size 1’s within HST that had run naturally on small convexities. These were maybe 15cms deep and probably due to continuous snowfall through out the day. The most important observation of the day was that at at unknown time possibly around noon Frequent Flyer hit the Connaught creek up track. It ran through the alder patch and crossed the trail 7-10m wide. It was hard to tell where it started but for it to push through the alders it must have been from the start zone at upper tree line. If your planning to go up Connaught, know that the potential for this path to catch you off guard has just increased. I was uneasy when just around the next corner we ran into a solo skier heading up for a late day lap...
