Ski Conditions

Went for tour up to Video Peak On Sunday, Dec 3.
Unfortunately, the recent storm snow has been redistributed by the wind at treeline and above, making the best snow conditions somewhat more challenging to find.

We dug a test profile at 2300m on a SE Aspect and found a 250cm! snowpack with the well defined Nov 23-26 crust situation down 110cm. No significant shears in the upper snowpack and no results to a “Deep Tap Test” on the crust.

We observed the new wind affected snow to be reactive to skier traffic in isolated areas, but not propagating.

Nice to see the sun and so many folks working well together to manage their exposure on a very busy day.
