Ski Conditions

Adventures365 AST 2 field day today in Kananaskis Country up Commonwealth Creek.

It was a blustery, wintry feeling kind of day but with mild temperatures of -7. With the avalanche hazard climbing, we stuck to terrain below treeline. Visibility up high was limited and there was 5-10 cm of new snow plus the previous snowfall and facets being blown around by moderate-strong winds. Definitely a good day to not be high where one would be wandering around in low visibility amongst building wind slabs on facets!

The snowpack is low for this time of year, and the low density snow barely keeps your skis above hidden hazards.
