A winter storm is forecast to hit Jasper and Banff National Park this weekend, bringing as much as 45cm of snow. If the full force of this storm occurs, road closures may be required for Parks Canada staff to conduct avalanche control work between Athabasca Falls and Saskatchewan Crossing to ensure the safety of motorists on the Icefields Parkway.

Climbers and area users should be out of the area no later than 16:00 (4pm) on Saturday, March 8.
