Climbing Conditions

Climbing Conditions

A quiet day in the Ghost this past Saturday. We had intended to climb on the North Phantom Crag but all routes in the Dirty Dancing area were running with water. For this time of year there is still a significant amount of snow in the bowls above the top of many crags. As an alternative we climbed two routes on the Bastion Wall/Sci-Fi Sector. There were some wet spots but not enough to be a show stopper. Of note, the route Thor is still very wet. Small amounts of snow at the base. The driving into the North Ghost is quite reasonable. Once down the big hill take an immediate right (head north) to get on the main berm. (this berm has an impassable washed out section if you try to gain it from the south). Otherwise the drive was pretty straight forward and at the time water levels were very reasonable. Not much wash board on the road before the big hill, just big pot holes.
