Ski Conditions

For those of you who haven't given up on sliding on snow, there's lots up there!

Went out for a tour today in the Blackcomb backcountry. Overnight recovery has been pretty good despite the warm temps. The glaciers are skiing well and travel was easy on all non solar aspects with ski penetration of 0-10cm depending on time of day.
Solar aspects are quite soft and reactive to skier traffic. Looking around the spearhead range, the crevasses are starting to show and/or sag (Tremor glacier in particular) and most cornices have been active. Of note there's a recent healthy size 2 on Decker's north glacier that seems to have pulled down to the glacial ice.

If the weather cooperates could be a really good weekend out in the mountains.
Enjoy the long weekend!
