Ski Conditions

A strong overnight freeze with up to 20 cm of new snow made for very good skiing on North alpine aspects today.

We saw widespread evidence of a large natural cycle at treeline and above on pretty much all aspects. Much of it from yesterday, but also once today's solar radiation hit the new snow.

A good overnight crust recovery carried well into mid afternoon below treeline.

The Bow Hut approach canyon had some avalanches run to ground yesterday afternoon and again this afternoon. There is still plenty of hang fire in there. I wouldn't want to be walking up it when the snow isn't frozen in place...
