Today we had cracking and whoomphing down 40cm in tight trees at 1700m NE aspect. We noted several skier triggers avalanches sz 1-1.5 down 40cm on surface hoar from the past 72hrs below tree line. Avoided steep sheltered openings, rockslabs and creek walls skiing below tree line.
In the alpine several size 1-1.5 skier triggered avalanches out of extreme alpine 40cm deep and a few natural sz 1-2 on a North aspect from the past 72hrs 40-80cm deep, 2 ran on the old bed surfaces from previous large avalanches.
Sun crust on steeper solar aspects and surface hoar sz 5-10mm at tree line and below.
Moderate skier traffic in standard lines, still lots of room to squeeze in good turns.
