I'm currently guiding in the Esplanades, and we're finding the 13 February layer very reactive where a sun crust exists buried 40-50 cm especially on >30* slopes.
On a snowpit test, we had sudden failures upon isolation of a column and again on a compression test in the low easy range.
A neighbouring lodge reported a skier remote size 3 yesterday and a natural 2-3 on this same layer today (no involvements).
We're staying well away from big south faces.
