Skied up to Healy Pass yesterday. There was 90 cm of snow on the ground at our high point of 2350 m. 45 cm of this was low density snow from the recent storm, which was laying on a hard crust that had formed from the previous warm temperatures and perhaps even rain. The base of the snowpack was weak facets.
The crust was supportive for skiers and even held us up most of the time when we took our skis off. We heard one whumpf on an open slope. We did not see any recent avalanche activity. Ski quality was good but we kept off any steep slopes and did not enter avalanche terrain.
