With a good overnight freeze (-8c/parking lot @ 0500) and an early start and early finish Elizabeth D and I enjoyed good conditions on Nemesis today.
Travel on foot was easy on a well packed trail to just before the big boulder below the route. We snowshoed the last 200m to the base in variable snow conditions consisting of hard windslabs and punchy dry faceted snow.
Ice conditions were quite good overall, with some hard brittle ice on the last pitch and good protection throughout.
We did not witness any avalanche activity today but there was evidence of several small loose wet avalanches across the valley in steep SW terrain from within the last 24hrs.
