Rockies/Columbia mountain summary

We are fully in a period of transition back to winter in the alpine now. Temps could be as low as -10 at 3500m and a dusting of snow today and Saturday, with the sun making an appearance again on Sunday and sticking around for most of next week.

Lower down the Larches are in full golden colour, and trails are in good shape for this time of year. Glaciers stayed in good shape through the summer, and would be offering some great late season mountaineering, however keep an eye out as is snows and blows for crevasses to start getting covered and small cornices and pockets of wind slabs forming in lee ridge top features. Lower elevation sunny rock crags would probably be good on Sunday.

I am sure there will be some Ice climbers hunting around this weekend for some early season ice climbing......Good luck!
