Trail Conditions

Hi Folks
Trail conditions to the first Geraldine Lake are in good conditions.

The most tedious and tiresome aspect of the unmaintained trail to the second lake, and beyond to the campsite, are the numerous crossings of boulder fields, as well as climbing over fallen logs along the way.
Water and muddy sections on the route are plentiful.

Caution, this is not a trail for beginner hikers, as route finding skills are required for this section of the trip.

However, beautiful waterfalls at the end of the lakes, will render this trip worthwhile to a number of folks, as was evident on this sunny July day.

Allow 3-4 hours to the campsite, perhaps more in rain, when the lichen covered boulders will create challenging, slippery conditions.

Wishing everyone a fun filled and safe summer season.

Happy Trails, Martina
