Avalanche Control using explosives deployed by helicopter is planned for Mt Whymper, Simpson, and Mt. Wardle Febuary 28th, 2026. Intermittent Avalanche Closure Zones will be closed for these areas on this date. Please: no skiing, climbing, or backcountry travel in these areas for the day.
