We skied in the Cayoosh area today. Clear skies, light wind and cool temps made for great touring. The faceted snow skied very well in wind protected areas. There has been some recent loose, wet avalanche activity from steep solar alpine rock, but not producing any slab avalanches.
We toured in the Blackcomb backcountry yesterday, in the Decker area. Lots of people out enjoying the clear weather. There was some crust on steep solar aspects in the alpine. Wind sheltered areas skied well. No avalanche activity noted.
It looks like conditions will change in the next couple of days with cloudier and warmer weather, and some precipitation.
