Avalanche control work on the Icefields Parkway
Delays and intermittent closures of 1hr or less on Friday, January 17th

A winter storm is anticipated to hit Jasper and Banff National Parks, bringing with it as much as 15cm of snow by Friday, January 17 2025. Intermittent closures between Parker Ridge and Saskatchewan Crossing will be required to allow Parks Canada staff to conduct avalanche control and ensure the safety of motorists on the Icefields Parkway. Road condition updates may be found using Alberta 511.
