Avalanche Conditions

We had excellent conditions on the Lilly to Dome Traverse today.

Avalanche Conditions:
The Lilly Glacier had widespread windslabs up to 20cm deep, which weren't reactive to skiing. There was no wind effect at all on the Dome side, only some sluffing in terrain over 40 degrees.

Glacier Conditions:
See photos attached for a recent crevasse bridge that has collapsed on the Lilly Glacier. It's not where you would normally ski, but a good reminder that even with an average of 2m or more snow on the glacier, bridges aren't always strong. If you look carefully in the first photo, you can see the collapsed bridge (shown in the second photo) level with the skiers heads to the right.
