Conditions have improved dramatically in the past week. Currently there is approximately 40cm of snow at 1000m and the height of snow gradually increases to 85cm at 1400m to ~135cm in the alpine.

Over 50cm of new snow fell in the last week. And the Nov 7 MFcr is down 30-80cm feature dependent. For the most part the snowpack is progressively resistant. Foot penetration is 80-90cm above 1700m and ski penetration is 30-60cm.

In the alpine, the mid-pack is more consolidated and smooth features ski well. Talus slope and features with more surface roughness still have a ways to go.

Below tree line, the upper and mid snowpack are unconsolidated and rocks,
stumps, logs etc are thinly veiled under the new snow. Tree wells and creek holes haven’t filled in yet either.

Avalanche activity:
Several dry loose to size 2 off of steep rocky terrain, running far were observed yesterday. Previous activity included a size 2.5 off of an E aspect at 2450m failing on the Nov 7 MFcr.
