Mt. Temple Scramble Route

Climbing Conditions

I guided the Mt. Temple scramble route today.

The Moraine Lake shuttle bus service worked well.

Just one small patch of snow on the trail to Sentinel Pass, easily crossed.

There are a few snow patches on the climb, with icy edges.

We ascended on snow in the gully to the climber’s left of the crux in the 2nd grey rock band, and we used the bolted anchor to descend the crux in the 2nd grey rock band.

The summit ridge scree trail is mostly snow free.

We used our ice axes but not crampons. Crampons might be needed if we get a freeze.

Only one other party on the route today, they were ascending when we were descending.
