Skied around Ironton today, temps were HOT, reaching the 50s at 9000'. Wind was calm to light from the S and SW, with high clouds overhead. The snow surface warmed rapidly and by noon, boot penetration reached 30cm. The surface snow seemed to have gone through many diurnal melt freeze cycles in flat sun exposed areas. Lower angle southerly slopes were supportable in the mornings. We did not travel on steep slopes.
