With the Kicking Horse Canyon road open from 7am til 10pm, and -30 temperatures in Lake Louise, we chose to climb in the pleasantly sunny -20 morning temps near the Columbia Valley.
Access from the rest stop was across the river on a well worn boot pack. No access issues of any kind were encountered.
The ice was plentiful, if a bit prone to plating from the cold no doubt.
Sunny good times on the warm side of the Rockies.
Have fun
