Rainy day at King Creek today. The narrow avy paths were loading with storm snow near their start zones, though it looked like the majority of the paths were below threshold. Minimal avy hazard in the creek bed when we walked in/out, but that could change if it keeps snowing and the freezing level drops.
Our main notable for the day was a good sized rock, roughly a cubic foot in size, that fell from the big cliffs just before the main ice area.
The ice quality is shaping up nicely with the main flow and the far LHS flow being in good shape. The two middle flows are climbable but still quite thin. Note, climbable does not mean protectable with ice screws.
Bring on the winter! It’s mostly here. :)
