Neil and I traversed Mt Jupiter today, approaching from the Asulkan valley and Sapphire Col, descending via Asulkan Pass. The rock was a bit damp in places, requiring some care. The glacier was dry up to the bench at around 2350m, and also had some dry sections above including Sapphire Col. The lower glacier was quite a maze of crevasses; we had to climb in and out of a couple. The upper glacier had some crevasses with big dark caverns and ice bridges ice bridges less than a metre thick. It was sometimes difficult to tell if we were walking on ice or snow plugs or something in between.
Have fun out there!
