Skied the N face of Fraser Peak, ascending via the NE Ridge. Ski crampons were useful in ascending firm snow in exposed terrain before transitioning to an easy boot pack along the summit ridge. We gave wide margins to the large cornices that are developing above some high consequence terrain.
We found a skiff of reactive new snow above firm wind affected surfaces in the upper couloir, which we pitched out to manage our sluff in poor light. The face propper had 15-20cm of low density faceted new snow over a supportive firm old surface, making for a fantastic descent.
