Rockies: Renshaw area near Mcbride: Today we flew from Valemount to the Renshaw spending 4 hours in the main Renshaw snowmobiling area. We observed numerous size 1.5 to 3 that occurred during the last 18 hours due to the intense storm late yesterday and overnight. Slides mainly on lee slopes, E + N aspects and a couple on SW. We also observed 4 new size 2.0/2.5 due to cornice failure that occurred between 10 and noon. Storm snow 10 to 50, quite variable distribution, with deeper new snow observed further to WNW. Winds steady SW mod to strong, rapid cornice growth and loading on all lee slopes, intense scouring on the windward side. The risk for natural and human triggered avalanches increased to a higher level throughout the day.
