A Day Of Change

Keefer Lake Catskiing

Ski Conditions

Light flurries started early in the day with total accumulations approaching 5cm by 4pm. Moderate SW winds were redistributing the new snow and in lee features drifts to 10cm were observed. Remarkably better skiing by end of day. Snowing now. Time will tell what the kaleidoscope of previous surfaces this new snow is sitting on will do but in these parts there were lots of surface facets everywhere with faceted sun crusts on steep south. Spotty surface hoar to 4mm was found in sheltered N locations, this was on 5-10cm of heavily faceted snow.

We will know more tomorrow! Happy skiing.
