Kept it local today, went up Molars Ridge today with the roommates. We found good ski quality above 1700m in sheltered terrain on an East aspect. Please obey your alder below 1700m and watch for early season conditions.
We observed surface hoar today up to ridge top (2400m) size 3-5 mm standing proud.
We skied conservative supported TL and BTL terrain. We avoided a few open steep planer features in the BTL.
Test profile on SE aspect at 2300m. The height of the snow was 110cm. We found the Nov 5th CR down 65cm on Avg. This crust has facets above and below.
CTM 13 ( SP) Down 35cm on stellar size 1-3mm
CTM 14 (SP) Down 60cm on Facets size 0.5- 1 above the Nov 5th Crust. The crust is acting as the bed surface.
Both of these results were repeated.
We saw one new size 2, natural avalanche today on a Steep South aspect.
