I was in the Bugaboos to do the Cobalt Lake loop yesterday and got some good photos of conditions in the Bugaboo-Snowpatch Col. It looks to be in better shape than it often is at this time of year, but the amount of rockfall, both human generated and natural is certainly creeping up.

On the traverse to Cobalt Lake I wintessed numerous large rocks falling from the steep icy slopes of Eastpost, Whipping Post Spire and the Cobalt Glacier as the sun started to heat things up.

The forecast cooler temperatures (and snow) will likely tighten things up for a couple of days but it it supposed to warm up quickly again afterward.
