I guided a small group on the Heart Mountain loop on Friday afternoon as the storm front moved in. It's definitely shoulder season up there, and the going was a bit slower than usual, but the rock was mostly dry and I would say at least 50% of the trail and most of the tricky bits/rock was clear of snow. The most snow was on the ridge but there's a good hard track pounded in that makes for reasonable travel. Hard snow drifts over a metre deep were found on the leeward side of the ridge.
Today with the colder temps and recent precip the snowy travel would be a bit easier but the rock sections will be a bit slippery.
