I guided the west ridge of Tupper and the Swiss Peaks traverse on August 4th and 5th and found great conditions in the area.
Tupper west ridge was dry and seeing regular ascents.
We had a good freeze on the night of August 4th which made for excellent snow travel on our ascent to the Swiss - Truda col. The colouir is entirely snow covered with minimal signs of rockfall. We descended the SE face of Rogers which is in a little worse shape with some bare ice showing and rockfall becoming a concern. The schrund is opening in several places but still easily crossed. We were able to descend entirely on snow, however a 60m section of the face was thinly covered with only about 30 cm on top of the ice.
The bugs at the Hermit campground were notable.
