It was a great day for ice climbing in Ranger Creek today. The ice is in typical early season condition, so expect a bit more of a challenge for the grades. The weather was cool all day with just below freezing temperatures in the bowl (low of -2 in the morning, high of +4 at the road at 2:00 pm). There is a 3-5 cm temperature crust from last week's warm spell. Last night's cold dry snow (1-2 cm) persisted into the mid afternoon when we left. No avalanche concerns today in Ranger Creek.
