Avalanche Summary
Isolated pockets of wind slab in exposed areas were easily triggered, giving small size 1 avalanches.
Snowpack Summary
5-10 cm of new snow has been redistributed by moderate SW winds. This overlies a variety of old surfaces: surface hoar up to 25mm in sheltered areas, a thin sun crust on steep solar aspects and wind hardened surfaces in exposed areas. The Halloween crust, buried near the snowpack base, remains as a layer worth tracking.
Weather Forecast
A low pressure system coming in from the East on Tuesday will shift the winds to NE and bring some snowfall to the area. Temps will drop and we could see up to 10cm of snow.
A ridge of high pressure will build in the wake of this system, giving mostly sunny skies, cold overnight temps and ongoing light N winds.
