Trail Conditions

Hi Folks

For most of this trip, rain was our canopy.
Various degrees of muddiness (interspersed with dry sections) on the trails we travelled, made us wish we had siliconized our hiking boots prior to departure.

Trail maintenance for all three portions were evident, as fallen logs have been removed from the paths. Thanks!

Caution!
On Helmet Creek Trail the bridge at kilometer 12 is out.
A log, crossing the creek, will test your balancing skills, as it is wet and very round, providing somewhat poor footing.
As we learned at camp that night, not every hiker made it across the creek dry.
Option B, a log jam slightly upstream.

To the best of my knowledge, a bridge is to be installed very soon (no guarantees).

All other bridges along our travel route are in place.

Helmet Falls and Tumbling Creek campsites are in good conditions, and have what appears to be new outhouses:)

Despite a heavy cloud cover, the scenery was awesome.

Happy Trails, Martina
