Avalanche Conditions

On Friday, March 25, 2016, a snowmobiler rode out onto a cornice triggering the cornice and consequently a deep slab below from a north aspect at 2175m. The debris ran almost 300m and the snowmobiler was located 100m down from the top with some chest pain, but otherwise okay. The snowmobile was not located. The cornice hazard was likely underestimated and hard to recognize as it is part at a small plateau and would have appeared to have been flat terrain.
