Avalanche Conditions

Just had a recon flight into the tantalus range today. The north face of Serratus seems to have ripped out quite recently (24-48 hours) and went rather large.
At least 500m vertical with a path length of 1.5km. Snow slid across the glacier, down the last pitch and across a section of the lower glacier at 1500m
Could not see the upper section of the face (seems like it ripped) but the lower sections had crown lines to over 2m and multiple sympathetic releases.

On the flight we also noticed quite a few other recent crowns to 1.5-2m in height on all aspects and elevations above 1500m.

ACMG guide Joe schwartz was driving by this evening after the clouds lifted and was able to see more than my photo and confirmed that the whole north face slid. he estimated the crown to be 4m.
