Ski Conditions

The last storm, (November 21-22), added about 50 cm to the snowpack above 1500m bring it up to 100-120cm in sheltered locations. Snowpack depth above treeline extremely variable due to previous re-distribution by high winds. Skiing above Treeline was generally great but still needed to be wary of rocks in shallow areas. The base of the snowpack is weak due to facetting during the cold weather earlier in the month. Had a few whumps in isolated locations with soft windslab over basal facets. I don’t think I would ski anything steep with smooth ground cover in the alpine at the moment. Below treeline is rugged skiing in the bush and better in openings.
