Climbing Conditions

Climbed Victoria via Huber ledges today. A bit greasy on the lower ledges with verglas and a few cm new snow on the glacier. It was enough to keep us guessing on some pesky crevasses but travel was overall good. Huber looks icy. The bergschrund to get to the ridge on Victoria was totally filled in and easy to cross. The ridge over to Abbots pass was tedious in the verglas and light snow with crampons worn for most of it. South sides slowly melting, North wasn’t melting much at all. Trail down from Abbots Pass was as loose as ever, especially with little traffic now due to the hut being gone.
