Avalanche Closure and Anticipated Control Operations - Highway 93N

UPDATED 220504, 1800: Anticipating May showers in the Maligne and Icefields region for Wednesday and Thursday before returning to cool temps by Friday. A deep winter snowpack still exists on low elevation, high-frequency slide paths at Parkers Ridge and Medicine Lake. Focused control will take place Wednesday on Maligne LR. Forecasts have been variable and changing constantly, with that in mind, please consider this Plan A. Updates to the timing will be available from AB511 road reports

Maligne Lake Road at Watchtower is closed now for Avalanche Control. A full opening is expected on May 5th at 17:00.

Icefields Parkway will remain Open
