Climbing Conditions

Had a great time climbing the E ridge of Mt Patterson today. It's definitely a classic outing with great rock in a fine position. We decided to walk off the S side rather than reverse the route and quite enjoyed the descent. Here's some beta:

- The Mistaya River is flowing fast but crossing it was ok if you choose your spot very wisely.
- We brought crampons but didn't use them. All the glaciers are still mostly snow covered. Ice axes were definitely good to have for the walk off descent though.
- The route has numerous self drive bolts and fixed pitons. Be prepared to assess these and backup if necessary.
- When descending Delta Creek and sidehilling above the canyon, stay as high as you can for the best travel and to avoid a potential tumble into the creek!
