Climbing Conditions

Lots of snow left in the mountain. Good coverage on the Glacier on the way to Sapphire Col. Lots of snow on the slab of rock below the toe of the glacier.

On the Illecillewaet Névé, side, the snow line goes down just below Pearly Rock, thus hiker will need to hike on snow in order to cross the upper basin to reach the end of the trail. Very good coverage on the Névé, easy travel.

I attached few pictures, one of them is showing Young peak and the surrounding, another one Sir Donald and Uto, and the last one show the dry ridge of Castor that you climb from Sapphire col.

Sincerely,

Fred
