Trail Conditions

Beautiful conditions on Rummel Ridge (informal) snowshoe trail yesterday during a personal outing with friends. With snowshoes it was relatively easy going, although there were groups foregoing skis or snowshoes to walk with hiking boots. Not really recommended, as there were many post-holes where the snow was giving way - making travel in spots difficult with only boots. We only went to the base of the ridge, then turned back. Cannot comment on the trail conditions past that point. Overall, no concerns on that portion of this well-traveled trail.

Of note: Tent Ridge had some recent, class 1 likely, avalanche activity. We were also experiencing cracks in the snowpack as we gained elevation. With lots of wind cross-loading features recently, keep on the lookout if skiing the alpine behind Rummel and around the Tower.
