Climbing Conditions

ACMG Apprentice Alpine Guides Exam:

From August 31- Sep 3 groups climbed Rock routes on EEOR, Castle Mtn, and Mt. Cory. We experienced generally unsettled weather throughout these days, stabilizing as a high pressure system moved in yesterday. Monitoring electrical activity, the intensity of rainfall and its potential to cause rockfall, were in the forefront of our minds when mitigating hazards these days. Regular rainfall has kept scree and dirt slopes soft making for secure travel to and from climbs on Castle and EEOR. The approach and descent trails have started to become traveled and more well defined. Regular water sources on Castle have all dried up.
