Climbing Conditions

Climbing Conditions

Tim Johnson Deryl Kelly and my self spent the last 3 days in the DTC ice climbing and one morning on melt out. We found consistent cold temps -15 with the first 2 days sunny and clear. Day 3/4 was broken skies scattered flurries. No wind during our days.

2 o’clock falls in good albeit wet shape

End of the line thin and funky on the top of first pitch and lovely parting gifts were both in great shape and brittle in the morning.

Elliot left hand climbed very well and has not seen much traffic as of late. There is some significant avalanche debries at the beginning of the route and on top of every pitch currently.

Melt out is in great shape. At the top of the route we added chains to the existing bolted anchors to help facilitate a better pull once you have rappelled.

Enjoy the weekend!u
