Climbing Conditions

Yesterday we climbed Whiteman's Falls. We followed an old track which had been set prior to last Thursday's snowfall. The new snow was hiding a few gaping holes of running water in the canyon but all water can be avoided. All the small side canyons and walls had created big sluffs. On the first pitch we had to be careful climbing around big daggers, which we ended up being able to knock off. (though they will probably reform quite rapidly). The second pitch was very chandelier-ed and wet and good screws were hard to place. Overall it's in good funky shape as is par for the course for this climb. Temperatures didn't get above freezing. Minus 11 at the parking when we left the car at 8am. Red Mans Soars has very little ice. Only a few blobs here and there.
