Ski Conditions

Went for an exploratory tour up a side branch of Phelix creek and found lots of whumfing in the meadows producing remote triggered slabs down 40cm on what appears to be surface hoar. But only low banks and in immediate in bottom.

That's likely not a problem anywhere but cold valley bottoms because the heavy inversion has set in. Above zero temperatures in the alpine have affected all aspects of upper elevations it seems. Snow was gluing to skins and skis and falling off any remaining trees.

Pinwheeling was observed on all aspects with some new slabs (48hrs) releasing in various treeline and alpine bowls up to size 2.

Until new snow comes, expect spring conditions.
